Studio Rules

Classes:

Dancers are expected to arrive for class at least 5 minutes before class starts and should be picked up immediately after class ends.
Classes will be held every week except for on public holidays and during school holidays.
Should the dancer not be able to attend class the parent should inform me ahead of time.
In the events that a dancer misses more than 4 lessons in a term she will not be allowed to participate in Exams or Competitions.
If a dancer misses more than 3 lessons in a row without notice their contract will be terminated and the dancer will have to re-register in order to continue with lessons.
Please note that en Stage Dance Studio Volksrust does not provide any transport to and from class or any other ballet related activities.
No parents will be allowed to sit in on ballet classes, due to the great distraction that it causes. At the end of every term we will host parent watching days where parents will be able to sit in and observe what the dancers have learned.
Do not enter the studio when class is in session. I will be available before and after every class for payments or discussions.

Fees:

Once off registration fee will be charged when a new dancer registers to the studio.
Yearly class fees are payable at the beginning of each year or in 12 monthly installments.
Contracts do not expire yearly. If you wish to discontinue lessons, written notice of one month should be submitted.
Once a dancer's contract has been cancelled they will have to re-register if they wish to enroll with the studio in the future.
Please note that payments will not be stopped unless written notice has been submitted.
All fees are due before the 7th of every month. In the events that fees are not paid before the 15th of the month a late penalty fee will be charged to your account (20% of the monthly fee)
When monthly payments are late by 1 month, lessons will be discontinued until the account has been settled and the outstanding amount has been payed in full.
Students with outstanding class fees will not be entered for exams or be allowed to participate in any concerts/competitions etc. unless outstanding fees has been payed before the cut off date.
No students will be allowed to start lessons in the next year if they have outstanding fees from the previous year.

Examinations:

DASA exams will require you to pay an entry fee additional to your monthly class fee.
All dancers will attend exams in their class uniform.
During exams Dancers perform all thee exercises they rehearsed throughout the year in front of an independent examiner that will be appointed by the Dance Academy of South Africa.
Pre-Levels will be accompanied by me in the exam as they are too young to remember all the exercises on their own..
Grade and Major levels enter the exam room by themselves and will advance to the next level if they pass the exam.
All dancers who pass their exams will be awarded with a medal and certificate by the Dance Academy of South Africa.
No parents are allowed into the exam room.
I, as the teacher will use my own discretion to decide whether or not a dancer is ready for exam.
